​WHERE TO RIDE?

Leelanau county is Michigan's cycling secret, endless quiet back roads lined with orchards and vineyards paired with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. There is many great riding options with casual paved trails to challenging hills, Leelanau county has great bike rides for everyone and every ability.

BIKE TRAILS

Leelanau Trail: 15.5 miles- 35 miles
Paved Trail - Easy
The mostly flat 15.5-mile Leelanau Trail runs from Suttons Bay to Traverse City. The trail takes you though canopied forest , endless orchards and vineyards.

Sleeping Bear Heritage Trail: 15.5 miles- 35 miles
Paved/Gravel Trail - Easy
The rolling terrain, with 2 large hills 15-mile Heritage Trail runs from Empire through Glen Arbor. The trail is in the Sleeping Bear National Park and rolls though canopied forest.

45 North Trailsystem: 3 mile loop
MTB Trail - Moderate
Perfect for the intermediate to advanced mountain biker. This loop features everything from flowing berms to large gaps and drops.

MTB Trail - Advanced
Perfect for the intermediate to advanced mountain biker. This loop features everything from flowing berms to large gaps and drops.

ROAD RIDES

Stony Point Loop: 11.3 miles
Road Ride - Easy
Flat to rolling: This ride follows along the bay and then rolls along the orchards.

Road/Paved Trail Ride - Moderate
Ride begins flat along the Leelanau trail and adds some rolling hill along South Lake Leelanau

Northport Loop with some climbing: 35 miles
Road Ride - Advanced
Rolling with 2 longer climbs. Gorgeous riding, all orchards, vineyards and bay views.
